Ling Song Chase

Ling Song Chase is a Chinese-English Interpreter and China Business Consultant with a distinguished career covering banking and translation as well as trade and investment consultancy.

A graduate from China’s Central University of Finance and Banking, where she obtained a first class honours in Economics for International Finance , she initially began her career in banking, working for the Bank of China in Beijing (1987-88) and then at Standard Chartered Bank in Guangdong (1988 – 1991).
In 1991, she left both China and banking to study an MBA programme for Chinese Managers at the University of Sterling in Scotland, which she then followed up with an MSc in Information Systems Design at the University of Westminster in London from 1992 to 1994. It was during this time, she first began to take up translating and interpreting on a part-time basis, and finding herself enjoying the work, she decided to pursue this full-time and quickly developed a reputation as a first rate interpreter.

Having also obtained a DPSI (Diploma in Public Service Interpreting) in English Law, she now specialises in financial and legal aspects of commercial issues across various sectors, including banking, finance, manufacturing, import/export and shipping. Her clients include some of the world’s largest banks, such as Deutsche Bank, JP Morgan and UBS, and she has also acted as interpreter for numerous British Prime Ministers and their foreign counterparts, including David Cameron and Tony Blair.
Ms Chase is the Managing Director of China Trade Services Ltd, founded in 2000, and a committee member of the Kent Export Club.
